Story

The film is dedicated to Stepan Maly , an impostor , posing as the Russian emperor Peter III . Having become king of Montenegro , Stefan the Small successfully fought with Turkish and Venetian expansion, carried out a number of reforms, advocated the abolition of blood feud and fratricidal struggle. The life of the main character of the film ends tragically: he is killed by a servant, a Turkish mercenary.

The film, in general, follows the historical outline of events, introducing the protagonist as a kind and modest person who agreed to play the role of Peter III due to the entreaties of several Montenegrins.
