Geography
Bad Zwischenahn Community is located in the southeastern part of Ammerland County. The main town - the city of Bad Zwischenahn - lies 17 km west of Oldenburg . To the North Sea - 60 km, to the border with the Netherlands - 80 km. The community of Bad Zwischenahn is located in the North Oldeburg-East Frisian region. While the lowlands are filled with swamps, the sand ridges of this geological formation are suitable for use in agriculture. In the center of the community is located Tsvishenanovskoe Lake, until the 19th century it was called the Elmendorf or Ammer Sea. The area of the lake is 5.5 square meters. km (550 ha), thus it is the third largest lake in Lower Saxony after the Steichudevsky lake and Lake Dummer. The mirror of the water surface lies 5 m above the level of the North Sea. The lake was formed due to the failure of salt deposits.

Government Institutions
The Bad Zwischenahn Community Council consists of 36 advisers. The current composition of the council was elected in 2016 and will retain its authority until 2021. The burgomaster of the community since 2006 is Arno Schilling ( SPD ).
Medical facilities
The Bad Zwischenahn Community is home to the Karl Jaspers Psychiatric Clinic . It opened on March 15, 1858 and was first called the Hospital for the Insane in the rural district of Venen. Its first director was Franz Ludwig Anton Kelp. Since 1975, the clinic was transferred to the state of Lower Saxony, and since 2007, the clinic’s directorate has been transferred to the Association of Psychiatric Healthcare Facilities of the Oldenburg Region, and therefore received its current name in honor of Karl Jaspers . The clinic has 591 beds for inpatients. The hospital staff consists of more than 900 people. Clinic them.
