Working Principles
Based on integration with several RTB systems ( Google DoubleClick , Yandex , Adfox, Spicy, etc.), which gives, according to the co-founder of Local Hero Alexander Dorzhiev, a huge potential reach - “the lion’s share of more or less large Runet sites that earn money on advertising, participate in these exchanges ", including AdMe, Avito , Fishki , various portals , including news and entertainment [4] .
Accurate geotargeting is provided by AlterGeo hybrid geolocation technology [5] .
Works as an online self -service . To start a campaign, just point on the map and select a radius (from 500 meters to 5 kilometers), and then create a banner using a template or load a finished one [6] [4] . The service is available without registration, however, an account is required for payment and the start of placement.
Application
Basically, Local Hero is designed to promote local business: cafes , restaurants , car services , beauty salons , fitness clubs , shops and other similar enterprises, the majority of potential customers who live, work or just come close to the corresponding points of sale. Kommersant Money magazine mentioned the system in its material on “the most creative and cost-effective ways to promote products and brands” [7] .
In addition, it was used during election campaigns [8] for promotion via the Internet : the Yabloko party , for example, launched banners depicting candidates for the Moscow City Duma for display only in the territory of their single-mandate constituencies [9] , whose boundaries were set by polygons with 50 100 vertices [4] .
