After graduating from school in 1977, Victor came to Moscow, since then his life has been closely connected with karate, the peak of popularity of which occurred in these years.
Since 1979, Viktor Khan began training karate with Vitaly Pak, the winner of the 1st Moscow Championship.
Since 1980, Khan has been participating in various championships, this year was marked by the first significant victory - Viktor Khan became the silver medalist of the AUCCTU Championship. For several years, since 1982, Victor had to play for the national team of the Turkmen SSR, at the same time he entered the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture. In 1983, a dream came true: to play for the Moscow national team. Participation in the USSR championship was successful - Viktor Khan became the champion of the Soviet Union. This tournament was final before the ban on karate was introduced in the USSR in 1984.
Having survived the difficult time of underground training, in 1989 - on the eve of lifting the ban - Viktor Khan, with the support of his friend Veniamin Pak, three-time USSR champion in karate, founded the Ramenki sports complex. The same year gave another impetus to the sports career of Victor Khan - he became the champion of the USSR in the category of up to 80 kg and in the absolute weight category. This all-Union championship, which became the first after the lifting of the ban on karate, was simultaneously considered a qualifying competition before the debut departure of the USSR national team for the world championship in karate, which was held in Mexico in 1990. Victor Khan led the team. The first participation of our athletes in an international tournament was not crowned with victory, but gave experience, which later led to the success of our athletes.
Until 1993, Victor Khan took an active part in competitions, from 1990 to 2001 he was vice president of the All-Russian Karate Union.
In 1994-1997 passed the program for managers at the Presidential Academy of National Economy.
Currently, Viktor Khan heads the NGO “Karate-do Union”, and also continues to lead the Sports and Professional Club “Ramenki”, which is 25 years old this year. SPK "Ramenki" today is more than 1000 athletes involved both directly in the club and in more than 20 of its branches. The club offers ample opportunities for training not only in karate, but also in other sports. Over 100 athletes of the SEC "Ramenki" take part in the championships of various levels.
