Story

The alien vessel of the ruthless Dominators lands on the peaceful planet Dulkis on Death Island, a former nuclear test site converted into an anti-war museum, and absorbs all the radiation on the island. Dominators send robots-quarks to drill holes in the crust of the planet in order to process it into rocket fuel. Toba uses them to kill three rich adventurers, but their pilot hides and survives, but he thinks his ship has been destroyed. Rago is furious over the loss of three potential slaves.

The Tardis arrives on another part of the island and the Doctor with Jamie and Zoe begin to look around when they hear the ship explode. They hide in the building of the museum and meet three new arrivals from Dalky: Balan’s teachers and his students Tyla and Kendo. All are puzzled by the disappearance of radiation from the island. Callie also arrives and tells them about the Dominators and their robots, but Balan does not listen to him: he knows that he, the son of the director of the ruling council, is a famous fraudster.

Quarks meanwhile start drilling. The doctor and Jamie catches the quark patrol and leads them to the Dominator ship for interrogation and scanning. The doctor on the tests pretends to be stupid to prove his worthlessness, and also fails to attempt to use weapons in the museum, convincing that the secret of such military technologies has been lost. Doctors and Jamie are released, taking it for useless.

Callie contacts his father, the director Senex, who orders him to return to the capital. He takes Zoe with him, but Senex, in spite of everything, does not believe his son, so Callie steals a capsule and goes to the island with Zoe to collect evidence of his stories. Jamie and the Doctor, meanwhile, are flying to the capital. At the direction of Toba Quark, the station building was blown up.

Dominators catch Balana, Tila and Kendo, then Zoe and Kalli and use them as slaves. They work in the well, Balan falls and Callie runs away to the museum, taking the laser gun from the exhibition.

The doctor and Jamie capture the transport and return to Death Island. Jamie joins Callie, and the Doctors catch Quarks and lead them to the ship with their slaves. Jamie destroys Quark from a shotgun, infuriating Toba. That destroys the museum, and it infuriates Rago. He orders Quarks to hold the Doctor and Zoe for tests, and send the rest to the excavations. Jamie and Callie survive the explosion in the bunker under the building and destroy Quark with cobblestones. Toba is distracted by the investigation, and the Doctor and Zoe escape from the ship. Jamie and Callie continue to destroy Quarks.

The Dalkian Council discusses the situation and even Tensa, the emergency counselor, cannot force them to act. Rago with Quark bursts into the council, and the robot kills Tenzu. Rago says that the strongest farts will be taken into slavery, and the rest will die with the planet.

Toba returns to the ship and tries to find out who destroyed Quark. He kills Balan for refusing to answer, but returns to Rago, who sends Toba to complete the drilling and prepare both missiles using all the slaves. Rago focuses on drilling the central mine, and also learns from the leader of the fleet that slaves are not needed: all far-away people will remain on the planet that will be destroyed.

During the excavations, Jamie and Callie destroy the quark and free their friends. The doctor unravels the Dominator's plan: an atomic bomb dropped into a mine will turn the planet into a radioactive mass that the Dominator's fleet will devour. They dig a tunnel into the central shaft to steal a bomb before it explodes, while Jamie and Callie destroy Quarks in the meantime with improvised bombs.

The doctor intercepts the bomb when it falls, but it turns out that it cannot be defused. Callie, Thiel and Kendo fly away from the island, Jamie and Zoe leave for the Tardis, and the Doctor throws a bomb on the Dominator's ship. He flies away and explodes, and the Doctor and his companions depart for the Tardis, fleeing the oncoming lava flows from new volcanoes.
