Anti-submarine ship - a military ship designed to deal with submarines , as a rule, at the same time it is able to fight with air targets.
Classification of anti-submarine ships
Depending on the size, it belongs to one of the following classes:
- Anti-submarine aircraft carrier - an aircraft carrier of medium or small displacement, designed to detect and destroy submarines by specialized anti-submarine aircraft.
- Anti-submarine cruiser - a large anti-submarine ship, designed for long trips with the goals of searching and destroying submarines. Anti-submarine cruisers include cruisers - helicopter carriers that became part of the fleets of the USSR, Italy, France and Great Britain in the 1960s.
