History
For the first time, a football team in Engels was founded in 1956 (under the name "Team of the city of Engels"). In 1956 and 1958 she participated in the championship of physical education teams. In 1967-1969, she spent three seasons in the competitions of masters (in 1967-1968 under the name "Labor", in 1969 - "Motorist"), the highest achievement - seventh place in the zonal tournament. In 1987, under the name "Builder" again participated in the KFK competitions. There is no information about the team’s performances in other seasons of the Soviet championships. In 1992, under the name Zavolzhye, she played in the championship of KFK of Russia, and in 1993 in the second league .
Under the name "Spark", the club was founded (recreated) in 1995 on the basis of a factory of automotive tractor glow plugs. In 1995, the team won the KFK zonal tournament and received professional status. Since 1996, FC Iskra has been a team of craftsmen. Iskra has been playing in Russian championships since 1996. The highest achievement in the championships - 5th place in the Volga region in 1999. In the Cup of Russia - an exit in the 1/64 finals in 1999 and 2001. The biggest victory - 9: 1 over the Saratov “Salute” in 2001. In that meeting, Alexander Pogromov scored 5 goals. The best scorer of Iskra in the history of the team is striker Andrei Eskov, who scored 57 goals against opponents. The club record holder for the number of matches held is Alexander Zhilenko (more than 220 games).
The club was revived in 2013 on the basis of the Spartak and Yunost clubs. Since 2013, the team took part in the Championship and Cup of the Volga Region International Competition. September 1, 2017 withdrew from the competition [1]
