This gene encodes the sixth largest subunit of RNA polymerase II , the polymerase responsible for the synthesis of RNA messenger in eukaryotes , in which two other DNA-controlled RNA polymerases are also involved. In yeast, this polymerase subunit, in combination with at least two other subunits, forms a structure that stabilizes polymerase transcription in the DNA template. [2]
