Anya Angelov ( Bulgarian. Anyu Angelov ; born December 22, 1942 , Haskovo , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian politician. Former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria (2010-2013). Member of the center-right government Boyko Borisova .

Biography
He graduated from the Higher Military Artillery School named after Georgy Dimitrov with a degree in radio electronics. After that - the Military Academy named after G. S. Rakovsky , specializing in strategic command and control of the armed forces and specializing in military schools in Moscow during the time of Yu. V. Andropov (1982-1984). In the 2000s, he graduated from the NATO Defense College in Rome.
1990 - appointed commander of the air defense of the land forces of communist Bulgaria , and already in 1992 - deputy commander of the land forces of Bulgaria, freed from Moscow guardianship.
1994-1997 - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Bulgarian Army, after which he was appointed military attache at the Bulgarian Embassy in Great Britain. 2000-2002 - Head of the Rakovsky Military Academy.
During the reign of the red governments of the two thousandths, he joined the center-right - the GERB party. Thanks to this, he made a rapid political career - from Deputy Minister of Defense to Minister of Defense of Bulgaria (dated January 27, 2010). In this post, he replaced the Minister of Civil Affairs Nikolai Mladenov , who headed the Foreign Ministry in the government of Boyko Borisov.
