Subordinate to the administrative district of Upper Bavaria . It is part of the Freising district. The population is 45,223 people ( as of December 31, 2010 ) [1] . It covers an area of 88.45 km². The official code is 09 1 78 124 . The city is divided into 29 urban areas.
The city houses the Munich Technical University , as well as the oldest operating brewery in the world with the same name Weinstefan . In the crypt of the cathedral are the relics of the Christian Saint Corbinian of Freising . There is an open ice arena where the Freising Hockey Team Black Bears plays.
