Biography
The representative of the Polish noble family Oceskikh coat of arms " Yastrzhembets " Son of Raphael and Sophia Oceskikh. Born in Otseshin. In 1516 - 1518 he studied at the Krakow Academy , where he became a Bachelor of Arts. Later, he was surrounded by Chancellor of the Great Crown Krzysztof Szydłowiecki as a courtier, then the secretary rotated among people of high humanistic culture. Soon began a diplomatic career. He traveled three times at the head of the Polish delegation to Turkey (in 1531 , 1533 and 1543 ). In 1540, he negotiated with the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V Habsburg regarding cooperation against the Ottoman Turks. In 1541 he headed the embassy in Rome , where it was a question of coordinating efforts inside and outside the country with Pope Paul III .
In 1544, Jan Ocesky became secretary of the king, and in 1545 he was appointed a great coronate referendary. From 1546 he held the post of Zavikhost castellan , and from 1547 - Betsky castellan . After the death of Sigismund I, I supported the queen Bona in her internal intrigues. Due to this, in 1550 Ocesky became the sub-chancellor of the crown, in 1552 the great crown chancellor. In 1553 he was appointed general warden of Krakow. After Bona Sforza left the country, Jan Ocesky switched sides with Sigismund II . He supported the latter during the Diet of 1562-1563.
