Biography
Furini formed in the academic circle of Biliverti and Matteo Rosselli, and his education ended with a trip to Rome , where he met his compatriot Giovanni da San Giovanni, and Venice . In 1633 he became a priest, but did not give up painting, which he did in his parish of Sant Ansano in Mugello. However, due to the abundance of mythological orders (The Death of Adonis, Budapest, the Museum of Fine Arts; Three Parks, St. Petersburg, the State Hermitage Museum ) and religious subjects (Adam and Eve, Florence, Palazzo Pitti ; Lot with daughters ", Madrid , Prado ;" Mary Magdalene ", Vienna , Museum of the History of Art;" Saint Lucia ", Rome, Gal. Recession), which was dominated by female nudes, presented in languid poses, he soon returned to Florence. Furini's languid and bluish haze painting does not fit into the framework of Tuscan realism of the time; refined idealism full of eroticism is inherent in it. Furini also executed two frescoes glorifying Lorenzo the Magnificent , painted in 1636 for the degli Argenti Museum in the Palazzo Pitti; he also owns a series of drawings (Florence, Uffizi , Cabinet of drawings).
