Caerorhachis

Caerorhachis (Latin) is a genus of extinct amphibians from the monotypic family Caerorhachidae of an obscure systematic position. Known for the only incomplete skeleton acquired in 1883 by Harvard University as part of the collection of Scottish vertebrates of the Carboniferous period , which belonged to Thomas Stoke. The material of the collection did not have accompanying information on the place of detection and stratigraphic characteristics. The structure of the shale fossil similar to those of the excavations in Lonheed (southern suburb of Edinburgh , Scotland), which date from the Serpukhov layer of the lower Carboniferous (age - about 331-323 Ma) [2] .
