Ara Artushevich Papyan ( Armenian Արա Արտուշի ապյան ; born on June 6, 1961 , Yerevan ) - Armenian lawyer , diplomat, political scientist and historian, former Armenian ambassador to Canada ( 2000-2006 ), heads the research center Modus Vivendi [1] [2 ] .

Biography
Early years
Born on June 6, 1961 in Yerevan , Armenian SSR . He served as a military translator in a limited contingent of Soviet troops in Afghanistan [1] . In 1988 - 1989 , he led the Union of Armenian Veterans of the Afghan War [2] .
Education
- 1984 - graduated with honors from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at EHU with a degree in Iranian Studies [1] .
- 1989 - graduated from the EHU Department of History of the Armenian People
- 1994 - graduated with honors from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia .
- 1998 - Graduated from the NATO Defense College ( en ) in Rome [1] .
- 1999 - graduated from Oxford with a degree in Public Diplomacy.
