Pamfil Nazarovich Nazarov (Mitrofan in monasticism; February 9 (20), 1792-1839) - Russian peasant soldier and writer - memoirist , later a monk.

Born in the village of Filimonovo, Selikhovsky volost, Korchevsky district, Tver province, he was one of four sons. He knew how to burn coal and forge nails.
In September 1812, he was recruited; from October 4, 1812, he served in the 8th Jaeger Company of the Finnish Life Guards Regiment .
Subsequently (from the moment the Russian army entered Prussia) in the 6th Jaeger Company, from 1815 in the 2nd Carabinier, from 1826 in the 2nd Jaeger.
He took part in the foreign campaign of the Russian army , fought in Saxony , Prussia and Silesia .
He participated in the capture of Paris by the allied forces in 1814 and the victory parade along the streets of the French capital.
In 1828, as part of the regiment, he participated in operations against the Turkish troops , and in 1831 against the Polish rebels .
May 8, 1831 in the battle received a bullet wound in his right leg.
In 1832 he was awarded the Insignia of the Military Order under No. 64665 for service, in 1834 for the 20-year immaculate service the Insignia of the Order of St. Anna , as well as the Polish Insignia for Military Dignity of the 5th degree.
After completing military service in 1836 he returned to his native province , took monastic tonsure under the name of Mitrofan [1] and moved to the Spassky Monastery in Yaroslavl .
He left "Notes" about his military service in 1812-1836, during which he had to travel most of Europe several times; they described in detail the then soldier's life. His "Notes" were placed in " Russian Antiquity ", 1878, No. 8, in 1912 reprinted in the journal "Tverskaya Antiquity".
