Subject to the administrative district of Upper Bavaria . It is part of the Traunstein district. The population is 2640 people (as of December 31, 2010). [1] Covers an area of 34.18 km². The official code is 09 1 89 115 .
The modern territory of the commune was formed in 1972 as a result of the union of the communes Engelsberg, Meissenberg and Aiting.
Industry and agriculture
As of 1998, according to official statistics in the commune, the bulk of the employed population worked in manufacturing, some of the workers were also employed in forestry, agriculture , trade and transport enterprises . 97 agricultural enterprises covered an area of 2,316 hectares, including 1,780 hectares of arable land.
