Zhecheng ( Kit. Ex . 柘 城 , Pinyin : Zhèchéng ) - county of Shantqiu city district, Henan Province ( China ). The name of the county means “city of Zhe” and is derived from the stream of Zhegou.

History
Under the Qin Empire, Zhexian County (柘 县) was established. When the Sui Empire in 596, it was renamed Zhecheng. Under the Ming Empire in 1542, the county center was washed away by floods, and in 1554 it was re-built to the south, at its present location.
In March 1949, the Shangqiu Special District (商丘 专区) was formed, and the county became part of it. In December 1958, the Shangqiu Special District was annexed to the Kaifeng Special District (区 专), but in 1961 it was recreated. In 1968, the Shangqiu Special District was renamed Shantqiu District (商丘 地区).
In June 1997, Shangqiu city, Shangqiu county and Shangqiu county were disbanded, and Shangqiu county county was formed.
