Affining

As of December 31, 2015, the population of the Affing community is 5359 people. ^[5]

Community symbols are a coat of arms and a logo. The coat of arms of the community was established in 1954 on the basis of a decision of the municipal council and approved by the Ministry of the Interior (decree of December 18, 1954) ^[10] .

Coat of arms (history)

In Affing in the XII-XIII century. a local noble of the same name appears. When the family died out, the and power over it often passed from hand to hand. The Barons of Gravenreuth ( German: Gravenreuth ), a family from the Upper Franconian Uradel , acquired in 1816 the castle and tribal jurisdiction from Count Maximilian Anton von Leiden. On the side altars of the parish church are the coats of arms of these two noble families. The community chose, with the consent of the family, the emblem of the noble Gravenroit family ^{[10] [11] [12]} for its emblem.

The emblem's description reads: “Against a blue background is a silver unicorn growing from a silver stone. The emblem with its outstanding symbolism represents important sovereign affairs.
The logo represents the modern community service idea ^[13] .
