Kemal Akishevich Akishev ( May 24, 1924 , village of Bayanaul, Pavlodar region - August 10, 2003 , Almaty ) is a Soviet and Kazakh archaeologist , one of the founders of the national school, who made the discovery of the Golden Man [1] . Laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR (1982). Doctor of Historical Sciences (1988), corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute (1982). Honored Worker of Science (1989), laureate of the State Prize named after Sh. Ualikhanov (1966).

Since 1991, the main researcher at the Institute of Archeology. A. Margulan , head of the department of archeology, and since 2000, head of the department of world history, archeology and ethnology of the Eurasian State University named after L. N. Gumilyov .
Since 1954, he led the Zhetysu, North Kazakhstan, and South Kazakhstan archaeological expeditions. He collected scientific information about the historical monuments of Saryarka , discovered the " Golden Man " in the Esik mound (V — VI century BC), the Besshatyr mounds (1957–61), and the monuments of Otyrar that are of worldwide importance.
Wife - Larina Ekaterina Ivanovna (1927-1991) [1] .
He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, medals "For Military Merit", "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War", the Order "Parasat", an honorary diploma of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, his name is listed in the Golden Book of Honor of Kazakhstan [1] .
