Club career
Chara is a graduate of the Centauros Villavicencio club. In 2010, he moved to the Deportes Tolima where his professional career began. On September 19, in a match against “ America ” from his native Kali, Yimmi made his debut for the team in the Mustang Cup [3] . On March 11, 2012, in a duel against Real Cartagena , Chara scored his first goal for Deportes [4] . In 2013 and 2014, Yimmy became the team's top scorer and helped her win the Colombia Cup .
In early 2015, Chara moved to the Mexican Monterrey . On January 12, in his match against Leones Negros , he made his debut in the Mexican Example [5] . On March 22, in a duel against Leon , Yimmy scored his first goal for the team [6] .
In the summer of the same year, Chara returned home on loan, his new club was Atletico Nacional . On July 12, in his match against Aguilas Pereira , he made his debut for a new team [7] . After the lease was over, he returned to Monterrey.
In the summer of 2017, Chara moved to Atletico Junior . On July 19, in his match against La Ekidad , he made his debut for a new team [11] . In the same match, Yimmy scored his first goal for Atlético Junior. In matches of the South American Cup against Deportivo Cali [12] and the Paraguayan Cerro Porteno , he scored goals. In the same year, Yimmy, along with Iron Del Valle , Carmelo Valencia and Dairo Moreno became the top scorer of the championship . In 2018, in the matches of the Libertadores Cup against Guarani [13] and the Peruvian Alliance Lima [14], Chara scored a goal.
In the summer of 2018, Chara moved to the Brazilian Atletico Mineiro . The transfer amount was 6 million euros. July 19, in a match against Gremio , he made his debut in the Brazilian Serie A [15] . On July 22, in a duel against Palmeiras , Yimmi scored his first goal for Atletico Mineiro [16] .
International Career
On October 11, 2014, in a friendly match against the national team of Salvador, Chara made his debut for the national team of Colombia , replacing Carlos Carbonero in the second half [17] . On September 8, 2018, in a duel against the Venezuelan national team, Yimmi scored his first goal for the national team [18] .
