Melinda Culea ( born Melinda Culea , born May 5, 1955) is an American television actress. Culea was born in a suburb of Chicago and began her career as a model, working four years in New York. Then she moved to Los Angeles, where she began her career as a television actress [1] .

Kulea gained fame for her main female role in the first two seasons of the NBC series “ Team A ” (1983). Kulea was unhappy with the role, as the producers did not want to give her significant storylines. The star of the series George Peppard also did not want the woman to have a significant role in his show [1] . She was eventually fired, and the series has since been criticized for sexism [2] . In 1984, she won the lead role in Aaron Spelling 's production series Shine, which was closed by ABC after one season [1] .
In the second half of the 1980s, Culea had secondary roles in Family Ties and St. Elsver . In 1989-1990, she starred in the prime time soap opera CBS Quiet Quay [1] . Her last regular role was in the NBC / The WB sitcom Brotherly Love (1995-1997), where she played the stepmother of Joey Lawrence . Kulea has also appeared over the years in Hotel , Beverly Hills, 90210 , Star Trek: The Next Generation , and The X Files .
