James Houghton ( born James Houghton , born November 7, 1948) is an American actor and screenwriter. As an actor, Houghton is best known for playing the role of Kenny Ward in the first four seasons of the CBS Quiet Quay soap opera prime time, where he starred from 1979 to 1983.

Houghton was born in Los Angeles, California, where as a child began his acting career. In 1973, he joined the soap opera Young and the Bold , where he starred for the next three years. In 1977, Hoton played a lead role in the Code R prime time series, which was closed after one season [3] [4] . In addition to his role in Quiet Pier, Hoton appeared on the 1980s television series Fantasy Island , Hotel , Remington Steel , Love Boat , North and South 2 , and Colby . Outside of television, he appeared in the films I Want to Hold Your Hand (1978), New American Graffiti (1979), and Superstition (1982).
In 1991, Khoton re-qualified as a soap opera scriptwriter, working for Young and the Daring . [3] His work on the show earned him four daily Emmys and two awards from the US Scriptwriters Guild [5] .
