PGI Management

The history of PGI Management began on December 1, 1957 ^{[1] with the} official opening of the first lift in Pas de la Casa , Andorra, near the French border. In the summer of the previous year, Francesc Viladomat, the founder of the company, began working on the creation of Teleesquís Viladomat.

From 1957 to 1967, the ski resort founded by Mr. Viladomat continued its growth, including the development of advanced technologies in Pas de la Casa. On November 22, 1967, SAETDE (Encamp County Sports and Tourism Limited Company) was commissioned and two ski lifts, Escola and Font Negre, were launched. On August 14 of the same year, Francesc Viladomat and Encamp County signed an agreement to merge the two companies.

From 1967 to 2004, Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig installed several new facilities, including 6-seater lifts with detachable chairs, Funicamp (6.137 meters of cable car), restaurants, FIS stadium, etc., which served as the transformation of the ski resort into one of the largest in the Pyrenees.

In October 2003, the new Grandvalira ski resort ^[2] became public as a result of the commercial merger of Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Soldeu el Tarter.

In 2005, Joan Viladomat founded PGI Management with the aim of disseminating experience and providing specialized services in the field of ski project management. Thanks to the creation of PGI Management, Grandvalira / SAETDE draws on the experience and technologies of ski tourism accumulated over the past 50 years.

PGI Management services range from preparing a business plan , designing a ski resort to putting into operation, and full management.

A distinctive feature of our services is the creation of a single cycle - from designing an object to its completion and putting it into operation, as well as identifying business opportunities, selecting and coordinating major suppliers and analyzing costs and investment efficiency.

Regarding operations and management, the company pays special attention to: operational processes at a ski resort (lifts, slopes, snow compaction and snowmaking system); drawing up a business model of the ski complex (ski school, food and drinks, winter and summer sports and leisure activities, shops and rental points); sales and marketing (positioning, pricing, sales operations and booking center); service (IT-services, finance and administration, general services system).

Currently, PGI Management manages the Shahdag Ski Complex ^[3] ( Azerbaijan ), Grand Erzurum: Panandoken & Konakli ( Erzurum- Turkey), Gavarni-Zhedr ( France ), Khotakam ( France ), Al-Calafate Mountain Park ^[4] ( Argentina ) and Chimbulak ( Alma-Ata - Kazakhstan )

PGI Management is part of the international Kok-Zhailau development consortium in Kazakhstan , and the company’s efforts also developed a master plan for updating and positioning the ski resort and ( Bovec - Slovenia ).

PGI led the ski resort management for Erciyas (Kayseri - Turkey ) and the production process management for GranPallars (Catalan Pyrenees - Spain). One of the first projects was the signing of a staff training agreement with a ski resort in the Himalayas (Manali - India ).
