Biography
Born in New Jersey and spent her childhood in a "decrepit Victorian home." In 1994, she graduated from New Jersey College with a bachelor's degree in English literature. She worked as a publishing editor in medical journals. In 1996, she wrote for the magazine about role-playing games and edited it. Studied as a librarian at Rudgers University, but dropped out when her first book came out. [1] In 1999, Holly married her school friend Theo Black, an illustrator and web designer. She currently lives in Amherst , Massachusetts, with her husband and son Sebastian.
Creativity
In 2002, Simon & Schuster, the New York-based publisher, released her first novel, Enchanted, which received favorable reviews from critics and was included in the list of recommended literature for teens by the American Library Association. In the same fantastic world, inhabited by fabulous fairy creatures and located next to the real world, the action of the novels “The Brave” and “Resolute” takes place. The Brave novel was awarded the Andre Norton Prize for Achievements in Literature for Teens and made it to the final of the Mythopoeic Awards. [2]
