Biography
Alvarez started playing football at the Santvisenti children's team, and from there he moved to the Barcelona youth team in 2001. Victor spent six years at Barcelona, was in good standing and was considered a promising player, but because of differences of opinion, in 2007 he decided to change the team and moved to Espanyol [2] . In Espanyol, Alvarez went through the junior and youth teams, in 2010 he became a player in the second team of the club , which at that time played in Tercer , the fourth largest division in Spain.
At the end of the 2010/11 season, the coach of the first team of Hispaniola, Mauricio Pochettino, began to attract Alvarez to the games of the main team. March 6, 2011 Victor made his debut in the championship of Spain , coming on as a substitute in the end of the match with Levante [3] . The next year and a half, Alvarez played mainly for the second team. In the fall of 2012, Pochettino trusted the young defender with a place in the first line-up, which was previously played by an experienced Joan Capdevila . Victor managed to play only nine matches, after which Javier Aguirre was appointed to Espanyol as head coach, who again made Alvarez a substitute. In the club, however, Victor continued to be considered a promising player and in the spring of 2013 they signed a new four-year contract with him [4] .
In May 2013, Alvarez was diagnosed with a cardiovascular disease that required surgery and long-term rehabilitation [5] . He returned to the Espanyol only in November, after which he played irregularly, having spent only seven games in the 2013/14 season. In the next two seasons, Alvarez played much more often, becoming the main left-back of Espanyol, and in several games brought the team to the field as captain [6] . In July 2016, at one of the pre-season workouts, Alvarez seriously injured his left knee, which is why he missed the start of the 2016/17 season [7] . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, I joined the Russian Premier League club Arsenal (Tula) .
