Biography
Henning Lynge Jacobsen was born on March 6, 1962 in Copenhagen . He began to actively engage in rowing in early childhood, was trained in the rowing club "Nyudro-Furo" in the city of Stevring .
He achieved his first serious success in rowing in 1984, when he got into the main team of the Danish national team and, thanks to a series of successful performances, won the right to defend the honor of the country at the summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles . He took part in single canoeing at 500 and 1000 meters, in the first case won the silver medal, losing only to Canadian Larry Kane in the final, in the second case he received bronze, passing the same Ulrich Eike to the German. For all that, the countries of the socialist camp for political reasons boycotted these competitions, and many of the strongest athletes from the GDR, Eastern Europe and the USSR simply did not exist here.
Shortly after the Los Angeles Olympics, Jacobsen decided to end his career as a professional athlete.
