History
In Nizhny Tagil, this building is called the "Lord's House". The museum building is a classic example of a manor house of the early 19th century in the neoclassical style. Initially served as the main residence of the Princes Demidov. There were balls, social evenings with the reception of dear guests. After the 1917 Revolution, the building was used as a communal apartment.
In 1981, a building restoration project appeared.
The museum was opened in August 1997.
Exposition
The museum contains unique ancient products made of birch bark and metal, traditional clothing of the residents of the Gornozavod district of the Urals of the 19th-20th centuries, and samples of female needlework (linen, weaving and embroidery). The visitor can get an extensive idea of the life, craft and life of serfs and workers. Ural land of past centuries.
