The administrative center is the town of Provideniya .

History

The status and boundaries of the urban settlement are established by the Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of November 29, 2004 No. 45-OZ “On the Status, Borders and Administrative Centers of Municipalities in the Provideniya District of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug” [2]

By the law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of October 20, 2010 No. 89-OZ [3] , the city of Provideniya, the rural settlement of New Chaplino and the rural settlement of Sireniki , were transformed, through their unification, into the urban settlement of Provideniya with an administrative center in the urban type of Provideniya .

By the Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug dated June 8, 2015 No. 51-OZ [4] , all the municipalities of the Provideniya district - the urban settlement of Provideniya , the rural settlement of Yanrakynnot , the rural settlement of Nunligran , the rural settlement of Enmelen - were merged into the Providensky urban district .
