Content

Title

It had names: Novyi Khutor, Novy Poselok, Novochernavka, Chernavka. The name is supposedly based on the locality from where the first settlers were transferred to this place.

Geography

The village is located on the slopes of the Zhitniy Log beam, in which three ponds are arranged.

History

It was founded at the beginning of the 19th century as the Novyi farm at the nearby Padovsky stud farm, owned by the Princes Orlov.

According to documents known since 1811, it was inhabited by serfs. In 1816 there were 46 courtyards. In 1859 there were already 59 yards, in which 650 people lived . After the construction of the wooden St. Nicholas Church in 1873, it became a village.

In 1900, 1010 people lived in the village, there were 162 courtyards, a public building and four shops.
