IV: (+) ssRNA viruses | |||||||||
Single-stranded (+) RNA -containing viruses, shell-less rod-shaped virions which have a length of from 85 to 390 nm and a diameter of 20 nm. Right-side helix with a step of 2.6 nm forms a repetition of four turns, includes 49 capsid. Each capsid protein spans four nucleotides on genomic RNA.
The genus includes several species known primarily for the ability to infect plants. Some species are detrimental to rice , can lead to chlorosis , necrosis and other malformations of the plant [2] .
According to the International Committee on Virus Taxonomy (ICTV) , as of May 2016, the genus includes 4 species [3] :
- Beet necrotic yellow vein virus typus (BNYVV) - causes beet rhizomania
- Beet soil-borne mosaic virus
- Burdock mottle virus
- Rice stripe necrosis virus
