Pseudoexeirarthra spinifer (lat.) Is a species of staphylinid beetle of the genus Pseudoexeirarthra from the subfamily Pselaphinae ( Staphylinidae ). New Zealand [1] .

Description

Staphylinin small beetles . Body length about 2 mm (up to 2.8 mm). 3rd – 7th antennal segments subquadral, 8–10th transverse segments. The main body color is reddish-brown. Anterior and posterior frontal fossa (frontal foveae) and promesoxal fossae absent; along the anterior margin of the abdominal tergites IV — VI, triangular protrusions are developed; VIII sternite of females is covered with pseudosternite [1] .

Systematics

It was first described in 1895 by a large New Zealand coleopterologist Thomas Broun ( Thomas Broun ; 1838–1919) [2] , and first joined the collective clan taxon Sagola Sharp, 1874 , and then separated into a separate taxon as Pseudoexeirarthra spinifer (Broun) during audits of a family conducted in 2015 by Jong-Seok Park ( Louisiana State University , Baton Rouge , USA ) and Christopher Carlton ( Christopher Carlton , Louisiana State Arthropod Museum, Baton Rouge , USA) [1] [3] [4] [5] .
