Came from the Etruscan clan Egnatius. Presumably, his father was the philosopher Aul Egnatius Priscillian . It is known that he held a number of posts during his career, but it is almost impossible to date them accurately or even presumably. Prokul was a legate of Numidia at the end of the 2nd or the beginning of the 3rd century, then he was at the post of the legate of the 8th Augustow Legion , stationed in Upper Germany . Aulus also held the posts of the prefect responsible for the distribution of free grain in Rome , and the prefect of Saturn Erarius . The pinnacle of his career was his appointment as consul-suffect . In addition, Procul was the curator of the cities of Bovian , Alba Fucentius and Julia Concordia .
His brothers, most likely, were Lucius Egnatius Victor and Quintus Egnatius Proculus .
