Marica Arribas Robaina ( Spanish: Maritza Arribas Robaina ; born February 2, 1971 , Santiago de Cuba ) - Cuban chess player, grandmaster among women (1999). Four times champion of Cuba (1992, 1997, 2008, 2009). Champion of the Pan American Women's Championship 2000, bronze medalist 1998 and 2008. 6 times participated in the World Women's Chess Championship. From 1988 to 2014, she participated in all Chess Olympiads as part of the Cuban national team (with the exception of the 1992 Olympics ), but the team did not win a single medal in the competition [1] . In a 2012 interview, Arribas and another member of the national team noted that for them there are difficulties such as a lack of appearances on the international stage and access to the Internet , which makes it difficult to train and prepare for competitions [2] .
