Ugur Mumju ( Turkish : Uğur Mumcu ; August 22, 1942 , Karshehir - January 24, 1993 , Ankara ) - Turkish journalist.

Biography
He was the third of four children in the family. He graduated from school in Ankara, then, in 1965, the faculty of law of Ankara University [2] . From 1965 to 1969 he worked in his specialty. Then until 1972 he worked at the University of Ankara.
After a coup d'etat in Turkey in 1971, Mumju was arrested. In conclusion, he was tortured. Mumju later claimed that the people who tortured him told him: “We are the counterguerilla . Even the president of the republic cannot do anything to us ” [3] .
Since 1974, he led the column in the publication Yeni Ortam, since 1975 - in the Cumhuriyet .
Personal life
He was married to the Nejle Gyuldal , they had two children, Ozgur and Ozge.
Activities
Engaged in journalistic investigations. Published a number of books. At the time of his death, he studied the relations of the Kurdistan Workers Party with the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) [4] [5] [6] .
Shortly before his death, Mumju was investigating how 100 thousand pieces of firearms belonging to the Turkish armed forces were at the disposal of Jalal Taalabani , one of the leaders of Iraqi Kurds. 25 days after Mumju’s death, General , who was also investigating the matter, died in a plane crash [5] . On January 8, 1993, Mumju published an article Ültimatom in the Cumhuriyet newspaper, in which he stated that he would soon publish a book in which he would reveal the connection between Kurdish nationalists and some intelligence organizations [7] .
According to his son, Ozgur Mumju, on January 27, 1993, Ugur Mumju was due to meet with former prosecutor Baki Tug. Ugur Mumju wanted to discuss with him the possible ties of Turkish Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan with MIT [8] . In 1972, when Ocalan studied at the University of Ankara, he was arrested together with a group of students. Their business was led by Bucky Tug. After some time, he received an order from MIT to release all those arrested, since one of them is an agent of MIT. Later, Bucky Tug said that he could not remember which of the arrested was an agent of MIT [9] .
Doom
On January 24, 1993, Ugur Mumju left the house and got into his Renault 12 car. When he started it, there was an explosion. The bomb was made from C-4 [9] .
