Ohio University is an American state research university located on a 7.5 sq. M campus. km in Athens , Ohio . Ohio University is the first university in America formed by Congress , and the first university in the former Northwest Territory ; it is also the ninth oldest public university in the United States [3] [4] . The main campus , located in Athens , has over 26,000 students who come from almost every state and from about 100 countries.

Ohio University offers over 250 undergraduate courses. At the master's level, the university provides a master's degree in many of its major academic areas. Ohio University is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools . The Carnegie Endowment for Teaching Improvement classifies Ohio University as a research university (high research level) in the category of basic classification.
In terms of the total number of winners of the Fulbright Program, the university is on a par with such universities as Boston College , Princeton University and the University of California at Los Angeles [5] . Ohio University was recognized by the Bureau of Education and Culture as the largest in 2014-2015 in terms of the number of students who received the Fulbright Program among American students [6] .

History
Ohio University was formally established on February 18, 1804 , when its charter was certified by the new state's General Assembly . His certification went 11 months after Ohio was admitted to the United States . The first three students were admitted to the university in 1809. Two of them graduated from the university, receiving a bachelor's degree in 1815 [7] .
