Best known for her 1962 hit “Do You Love Me” , one of Motown's early hits, which helped him (the label) become famous [1] . Then in 1962, this song reached 1 place on the Billboard rhythm and blues chart and 3 places on the Billboard Hot 100 [2] and was sold in more than a million copies.
In addition, the song "Do You Love Me" performed by The Contours, is on the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll list [3] of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame .
