The 282nd Fighter Aircraft Gomel Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Division ( 282nd Iad ) is a military unit of the Air Forces of the Red Army , which took part in the operations of the Great Patriotic War and in the War in Korea .

Division Creation

The 282nd Fighter Aviation Division was formed by July 6, 1942 on the basis of the Order of the NPO of the USSR [1] on the basis of the 1st Reserve Aviation Brigade.

Reorganization of the Division

  • The 282nd Gomel Red Banner Order of Suvorov II degree fighter aviation division on the basis of the Directive of the General Staff [2] renamed the 216th Gomel Red Banner Order of Suvorov II degree fighter aviation division
  • In April 1960, the 216th Gomel Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Order of the 2nd Degree Fighter Aviation Division was reorganized into the 23rd Gomel Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Air Defense Division
