Alexander Efremovich Mukhin ( October 8 ( 20 ), 1805 , Moscow - October 26 ( November 7 ), 1861 , ibid.) - Russian writer, author of the book “Tales of Alexander Mukhin” [1] , special assignment officer with the director of Moscow theaters, retired staff -captain .

Biography

From hereditary noblemen (11/15/1819, introduced together with their parents in the VI part of the noble genealogy of the Moscow province [2] ). He was born on October 8 ( 20 ), 1805 in Moscow, in the building of the Golitsyn Hospital , in which his father Efrem Osipovich Mukhin lived and worked as chief physician. Mother - Nadezhda Osipovna, nee Moskvin (March 17–9 ( 21 ), 1830 “from consumption” [3] ), daughter of a large Moscow cloth and silk manufacturer, merchant of the 1st guild Osip Yakovlevich Moskvin. He was baptized on October 9 ( 21 ), 1805 in the church of Dimitry Tsarevich in the Golitsyn hospital [4] .The baptist in custody was the mother’s sister - Elizaveta Osipovna Batasheva (nee Moskvin) - the wife of the famous industrialist I.R. Batashev . On 2.9.1818, he filed an application with the Imperial Moscow University , in which he wrote: “I come from noblemen, the son of a state adviser, professor at Moscow University and a gentleman Efrem Osipovich Mukhin, a native of Moscow, I have 13 years of age, studied at a noble university hostel Russian, Latin, German and French languages, the Law of God, history, geography, arithmetic, algebra and physics; now I wish to continue my teaching at this university with the rank of student. ” Received a certificate for the title of full student on 5.7.1821. In August 1821 A short-term student A. Ye. Mukhin filed a petition stating: “Upon completion of my three-year course of studies in the Verbal department, I received a certificate for the title of full student from the University Council; now I want to join the military service, having fired me from the university, to provide me with the appropriate certificate. ” By the definition of the Moscow University’s board dated 09.09.1821, it was decided “a self-styled student Alexander Mukhin who wants to enter the military service, having fired from the university, to issue him a certificate ...”. He received a certificate of completion of a university course in the Department of Verbal Sciences on September 9, 1821 [5] .

In the process of military service in the 1820s, being a lieutenant , he served as adjutant to the head of the 18th division. He rose to the rank of captain .

From 1842 to 1850 He served as a special assignment officer at the Moscow Theater Directorate.

Writer. The author of the book "Tales of Alexander Mukhin" (M., 1836). A copy of this book with the inscription: “To Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin from the Writer. Moscow, December 16th. ” In the second half of December 1836, P.V. Nashchokin wrote to Pushkin:

“I am sending you the story of Mukhin - from the author himself. - I read them - I really liked them - they have a lot of feelings - and the author is completely absent from them. Do mercy - add a word to their own merits. He needs, he is not a rich man - family - he needs money, - and the stories are very good. ”

He was friends with the historian M.P. Pogodin . He was acquainted with V. G. Belinsky , as well as with L. N. Tolstoy , who liked to visit Major General I. M. Kanivalsky (1790-17 (May 29 ), 1856 ), the husband of his sister A.E. Mukhina Maria Efremovna Mukhina, in marriage Kanivalskaya ( April 18 ( 30 ) 1807 - April 28 ( May 10 ) 1884 ). Kanivalsky lived in their own house on Ostozhenka (the house was not preserved, in its place - a huge apartment building in 1915: Ostozhenka St., 5).

For A.E. Mukhin consisted of the following settlements: p. Foshnia [6] of the Mosalsky district of the Kaluga province , the villages of Zlatoustovo and Kurshevo with villages in the Gzhatsky district of the Smolensk province .

After the death of his father, on January 31 ( February 12 ), 1850 , he was the guardian of the orphaned young brother and sisters from his father’s second marriage: Efrem Efremovich Mukhin ( August 27 ( September 8 ) 1838 - January 12 ( 24 ), 1896 [7] ), Olga Efremovna Mukhina ( June 17 ( 29 ), 1837 - March 30 ( April 11 ), 1884 [8] ), Anna Efremovna Mukhina (November 2 ( 14 ), 1839 — not earlier than 1896).

AE Mukhin died of cancer on October 26 ( November 7 ), 1861 , in the apartment of his niece Kanivalskaya (Elizabeth or Alexandra) "in the house of Mrs. Apukhtina" in the parish of Pokrovskaya in Levshin Church [9] of the Prechistensky Forty in Moscow. The burial was performed by the priest of the Vlasyevsky church [10] of the Prechistensky magpie, Ivan Ivanovich Pobedinsky with the clergy of the Intercession Church. He was buried on October 29 ( November 10 ), 1861 , at the Vagankovsky cemetery in Moscow [11] . In 2015, the grave has not yet been found.

Wife - Alexandra Ivanovna, nee Dorokhov (~ 1811 - December 21, 1875 ( January 2, 1876 )) [12] , daughter from the first marriage of the hero of the Patriotic War of 1812, General I. S. Dorokhov .

  • Elizabeth (~ 1837 — June 22 ( July 4 ), 1854 ); she was buried in Moscow, at the Vagankovsky cemetery, next to her parents.
  • Vladimir (~ 1840 — between July 1865 and September 1875), college assessor
  • Alexander (? - October 19 ( 31 ), 1863 ); buried in Moscow, at the Vagankovsky cemetery, next to his parents.
