History
It was founded on February 24, 1891 in Budapest. Being the main Hungarian manufacturer of weapons, it also produced various gas equipment, water heaters, lamps, and various metal products.
Over the course of its more than a century-old history, the company was renamed several times: from 1935 - Fémáru, Fegyver- és Gépgyár (“Plant of metal products, weapons and machine tools”), from 1946 - Lámpagyár (“Lamp factory”), from 1965 - Fegyver- és Gázkészrl (“Arms and gas equipment plant”) and, finally, since 1991 - FÉGARMY Fegyvergyártó Kft. (“Arms of FÉGARMY”).
Due to the closure of many product markets as a result of the embargo, after 2004 the company declared bankruptcy.
