The decision to create a film studio was made by state bodies of the GDR in 1979. The following year, in 1980, the film studio was created as part of the department of the state film studio Deutsche Film AG in the city of Dresden [1] . The administrative authorities of the film studio were located in Bautzen . The film studio shot short films and documentaries related to the life of famous Serboluzhitsky figures, the history and culture of the Luga Serbs . She collaborated with individual film studios in Czechoslovakia, Poland, the USSR and Yugoslavia.
Films were released in two editions - in the German and Serboluzhitsky versions. Films were produced at the studios of Deutsche Film AG. Since 1983, the Serboluzhitsky edition of the film studio organized once every two years festivals of the Serboluzhitsky film.
After the reunification of Germany, the film studio in 1990 ceased operations. Her successor is currently the Sorabia-Film-Studio .
