It was founded in 2011 on the basis of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Kazan Federal University with the accession of the Research Institute of MM named after Chebotaryov and departments of the mathematical department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of TSPGPU .

History
Johann Christian Martin Bartels is considered to be the founder of the world-famous Kazan School of Mathematics , and N.I. Lobachevsky is its most famous pillar. In the pre-revolutionary period, prominent mathematicians A. F. Popov , F. M. Suvorov , A. V. Vasiliev , D. M. Sintsov , A. P. Kotelnikov worked at Kazan University.
