History

According to the work of the Hierarchia Catholica Medii Aevi by the historian Conrad Oybel in the first centuries of Christianity in the city of Sinopolis, which was part of the Roman province of Cilicia , the eparchy of the same name existed, which was part of the Patriarchate of Antioch . The names of the eastern bishops of this diocese are not known.

Since 1607, the diocese of Sinopolis has been the titular diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.
