All he knows is that he was born in Carthage and lived during the short reign of Emperor Kara (in 283 AD), and then (283–284) lived under Karin and Numerian , and with the latter won some poetic competition

Our time has not come to its full form (325 lines of hexameters) his poem about hunting (“Cynegetica”), written in 283–284. The author explains the choice of his theme with the fact that “all mythological plots are already anticipated by great poets”, and then speaks in detail about the care of hunting dogs and horses; The passage ends with a listing of hunting accessories. This work was published by Gaupt (Leipzig, 1838). The poem was written in good Latin and in the 9th century served as a textbook in monastic schools. His writings on the art of fishing (“Halieutica”) and aquatic activities (“Nautica”) are also known, but they have not survived to this day.

4 Nemozian eclogs have long been attributed to the Sicilian Titus Calpurnia; their undoubted affiliation to Nemesian was proved by Moritz Haupt (“De carminibus bucolicis Calpurnii et N.”, Leipzig, 1854, and in “Opuscula”, vol. I). In the first two and in the fourth, shepherds compete in singing (mourning the shepherd Meliboy, shepherds Alcon and Idas and shepherds Licidas and Pug, unhappy in love), and the third contains the praise of Bacchus. In the latter, the author managed to draw a vivid picture of the orgy. In addition, he is credited with the poem "Glory of Hercules" (usually attributed to Claudius Claudian). The works attributed to him in the 19th century were repeatedly translated into Italian.
