The 1909 Italian Football Championship is the twelfth season of the Italian football championship. This year, as in the past, the Italian Football Federation decided to hold two championships at once: the Federal and the so-called Italian [1] . Like a year ago, legionnaires were allowed to participate in the Federal Championship, and the Italian championship allowed only Italian players [2] . The football clubs Genoa , Milan , Pro Vercelli and Torino refused to participate in the Italian Championship, having performed this year only in the Federal Championship. Teams Andrea Doria , Milanese and Juventus played in both tournaments [3] . The newcomers to the main Italian championship were the clubs: Venice and Milan International (Federal Championship), as well as Vicenza and Piedmont (Italian Championship).

The winner of the Federal Championship was “ Pro Vercelli ”, and the Italian - Turin “ Juventus ”. Later, the Italian Football Federation decided to annul the results of the Italian Championship (as opposed to last year's Federal) and not to consider the Juventus championship as another “ Scudetto " in the "piggy bank" of the Turin team. The victory “About Vercelli”, at the same time, is officially recognized by the Federation [2] .
