Euro commemorative coins - special euro coins issued by each eurozone country from precious and base metals. Latvia entered the eurozone on January 1, 2014. Starting from this time, the Bank of Latvia began issuing national euro coins for regular circulation, as well as commemorative coins.

As of June 2017, 27 varieties of coins were issued, including 6 bimetallic coins, 20 from 925 silver and 1 from 999 gold .
Base Metal Coins
Bimetal coins with a face value of 2 euros are minted from brass and cupronickel as UNC . They have a diameter of 25.75 mm, a thickness of 2.2 mm and a weight of 8.5 g.
On the reverse - face value, EU card, 12 stars. Edge - ribbed with an inscription in Latvian. DIEVS * SVĒTĪ * LATVIJU * - "God bless Latvia." The circulation of each is up to 1,000,000 pcs.
