Romano ( Spanish: Cayo Romano ) - an island off the northern coast of Cuba , is part of the Jardines del Rey archipelago. Administratively, it is part of the Nuevitas municipality of Camaguey province, although Esmeralda is the nearest municipality located directly opposite the island [1] . The area of the island is 777 km².

To the south of Romano is the island of Cuba, to the northwest is the island of Coco and to the southeast is the island of Guahaba . The island is popular among bird watchers , however, unlike the neighboring island of Coco, there is no tourist infrastructure [2] .
