Viktor Sergeyevich Kalikin (1932-2007) - Russian singer ( bass ), music teacher, Honored Artist of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1967), Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1982), People's Artist of the Republic of Karelia (1999) [1] .

Content
Biography
Born into a peasant family.
In 1953 he graduated from the philological faculty of the Kaluga Pedagogical Institute .
In 1958 he graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky with a degree in opera and concert singer (teacher D. Tonsky).
Since 1958 - soloist of the Music and Drama Theater of the Karelian ASSR , the State National Ensemble "Kantele" , the Karelian State Philharmonic .
He combined concert activities with teaching at the A.K. Glazunov Petrozavodsk State Conservatory at the Department of Solo Singing, at the K.E. Rautio Petrozavodsk College of Music , and since 1992 he has been a professor at the Department of Cultural Studies at Petrozavodsk State University .
He was awarded the Golden Pushkin Medal of the “Fund of the 200th Anniversary of A. S. Pushkin”. In 2000 he was awarded the title Laureate of the Year of the Republic of Karelia .
He was buried at the Sulazhgorsk cemetery of Petrozavodsk .
Memory
In Petrozavodsk, on the house on 26 Lenin Ave., where V. S. Kalikin lived, on October 25, 2012 a memorial plaque was opened (the author of the sketch was sculptor L. Davidyan) [2] .
