Club
Joseph began his career in 1997 at Canon Yaoundé .
A year later, he moved to the Greek PAOK . Having taken part for the season in 17 matches of Alpha Ethniki , the Cameroonian moved to Apollon from Kalamaria, who performed in the league below. In the new team, Joseph did not stay long either, and at the end of the 1999/00 season, he signed a contract with the Swedish Malmo .
In Malmo, the defender spent 5 years, playing in 121 matches and scoring 5 goals. On August 14, 2003, Elanga made his European debut in the UEFA Cup preliminary round meeting against Portadown, Northern Ireland [2] . In 2004, Joseph became the champion of Sweden. At the beginning of 2006, the transfer of Elang to Brøndby was announced. The defender signed a four-year contract [3] .
A career in the Danish club at Joseph was unsuccessful, for two seasons he spent only 20 matches in which he scored one goal. At the beginning of 2008, the Cameroonian was loaned for a period of one year to another team of the Danish Super League , Horsens . The Cameroonian held their debut match in the new club on March 16, 2008 against Aarhus [4] . Returning from the lease, Joseph played another 3 matches for the "Brøndby". In late 2009, the contract with the Danish club ended and Elanga became a free agent.
In January 2010, the Cameroonian joined his former team, Malmo. He spent his first game in Sweden after a four-year break on April 20 against Helsingborg [5] . Joseph was used by the Malmo coaching staff as a reserve player, sometimes replacing Ricardinho who played on the left flank. Elanga spent 10 matches in the 2010 season and became the champion of Sweden for the second time. At the end of the championship, the contract with Joseph was not renewed, he moved with his family to Borås to find a new club. On January 9, 2012, the defender announced the end of his playing career, he plans to get a UEFA coaching license.
In the national team
Joseph played for the Cameroon team since 1995, was included in the application for the World Cup in France . I haven't played a single game at the tournament.
Personal life
In November 2003, Joseph was sentenced by a Swedish court to two months in prison for domestic violence against his wife. The player was also fined $ 3020 [6] . A contract with a lawyer could be broken by Malmo under pressure from an organization that defends women's rights in Sweden [7] .
Son Anthony was born in 2002 in Sweden, is a graduate of the Manchester United Academy, he was summoned to the youth team of Sweden [8] .
