Pervomaisky district (in Ukrainian. Pervomaisky district ) is an administrative unit in the north-west of the Nikolaev region of Ukraine . The administrative center is the city of Pervomaisk .

Geography
The area is 1319 km².
The main rivers are Sinyukha , Southern Bug . On the territory of the district there is a regional landscape park "Granite-Steppe Pobugie" .
Demographics
The population of the district is 37 thousand people ( 2005 ), including about 3 thousand people living in urban areas.
History
By a decision of the May Day City Executive Committee of April 29, 1927, the Bogopolsky District, which was part of the May Day District , was renamed Pervomaysky District . This date is considered the day of formation of the Pervomaisky district. After the abolition of districts in July 1930, the Pervomaisky District was transferred directly to the Ukrainian SSR. From February 27, 1932 to February 17, 1954 the district was part of the Odessa region . On the basis of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated February 17, 1954, the Pervomaisky district became part of the Nikolaev region [2] .
