Sundas (Sundans, self-name - Sunda; Sund . Urang Sunda ) - a people living in the western mountainous part of Java and on the south coast. The number is more than 25 million people. Anthropologically belong to the southern Mongoloids . They speak the Sundanese language of the West Pond zone of the Austronesian family. In material culture, they are close to Javanese . Religion is Islam , but many ancient beliefs are also preserved.

Since the middle of the 1st millennium , agriculture has developed agriculture (rice, corn , cassava , vegetables, etc.), irrigation canals and terraces have been created. Plantation crops (tea, coffee, cocoa, rubber ) spread in the 20th century . Sundas are also involved in animal husbandry and handicrafts (especially weaving); ancient folk traditions exist in works of art and craft. Many sundays work in industry. The composition of the sundas includes the badu ethnographic group, which has preserved archaic features of the economy and culture.
